Nikon WR-1 Wireless Remote Firmware 1.01 driver for Windows 7

Changes:

- The D5 and D500 ISO sensitivity displays are now supported. If you are using two WR-1 units, one as a receiver and the other as a transmitter, update both to firmware version 1.01.
- When used as a transmitter to change ISO sensitivity for a receiving camera, the WR-1 no longer cycles continuously through the available values.

WR-1 firmware updates can be performed with:

- D5, D4S, D4, Df, D810A, D810, D800, D800E, D750, D500, D7200, and D7100 cameras
- Other cameras cannot be used to upgrade WR-1 firmware.

- Turn the camera on.
- Press the camera MENU button and select Firmware version in the SETUP MENU.
- Check the WR-1 firmware version (“W”).

On the WR-1
- Slide the Tx/Rx/OFF switch to Tx or Rx.
- Press MENU and highlight VERSION using the multi selector.
- Check the firmware version.
- Slide the Tx/Rx/OFF switch to OFF.

Updating the Firmware:

- Create a folder on the computer hard disk and name it as desired.
- Download the file to the folder created.
- Run the package to extract the following folder named “WR1Update”.
- Using a card slot or card reader, copy the .bin file to a memory card that has been formatted in the camera.
- After attaching the WR-1, insert the memory card into Slot 1 on the camera, turn the camera on, and slide the WR-1 Tx/Rx/OFF switch to Rx.
- Select Firmware version in the SETUP MENU and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
- Once the update is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
- Confirm that the firmware has been updated to the new version.

About Camera Adapter Updates:

Updating to a different firmware version than the one already installed on the adapter can bring various changes such as improved performance and stability, add new features or enhance existing ones, but also various fixes for more or less recurrent issues.

Given the large variety of camera adapters and numerous methods for upgrading the device, it is highly recommended that you read and, above all, understand the installation steps before you consider applying the new firmware, even if you are a power user.

If you try to perform the update without knowing all the steps, you risk ending up with a broken device. However, what every upgrade needs is a compatible firmware to be transferred to the adapter (or to the camera) via either a USB cable or a suitable memory card.

That being said, if you consider applying this release and have made sure you’re properly informed on the process of performing the upgrade successfully, hit the download button, and update your camera adapter.

Check with our website as often as possible in order to be up to date with the latest releases.
